Drake House reopens today... Gutenkauf letter... Ledger endorses Stender... Kean in trouble?...

*

(The GOP's 'Ticking Clock' ad)
2006 Elections, Scary Ad Dept. - NYT: "Men in Hoods" -- The only audio is a ticking clock. Though the GOP said it was part of a blitz -- garnering considerable FREE publicity -- Dem fact-checking finds only $20K spent on the ad, which will run FEWER (not LESS as their press release says. Sheez!) than 5 times today and tomorrow, and only ONCE on Fox News. It's called 'PHANTOM' advertising, more about publicity than spending precious ad dollars. But WICKEDLY clever, though with an unintendedly ironic closing line “The Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising (see comment #9).” CNN commentary video clip is here; the GOP website with video is here.
