..... - Sales Tax: "Making the State Sales Tax Pull its Weight" -- a report by NJ Policy Perspective
.......... - I posted this link yesterday, but didn't have a chance to go through it until later [it's not a quickie!]. This is an important, thorough and thoughtful review of how sales taxes are put to work state-by-state and category-by-category across the country. It's an eye-opener. While a couple of things they propose might be taxed made my blood boil, you will be surprised by some of the things that are NOT currently taxed in New Jersey. Overall, a valuable contribution to the current debate about resolving the perpetual budget crisis. -- Dan
